David was born and raised in Wantagh, Long Island to two awesome Colombian parents. Never straying too far from home, he went to college at Hofstra University where he double majored in philosophy and sociology. During his college years, he became active in the local music and activist scenes. David was the lead singer of a locally popular band named Aeschylus and was often playing, promoting, or setting up shows after class. He was also involved with event planning and fundraising at the Long Island Freespace – a non-profit venue where Long Island youth could participate in art, music and politics. After leaving college David worked in the non-profit sector as an event planner for the Workplace project. With 22 years of Long Island under his belt, David moved to the big city, where worked as a brand strategy intern at VICE magazine during the day while bar-tending at night. Before joining fangohr, david worked at Renegade as copywriter and brand strategist for clients like Panasonic, GIRL, Kiva, and Snickers.
